TES V + New School

Mon Aug 4, 2008, 5:09 AM
I have been accepted into USC for years 11 and 12. It’s one of those university-preparation high schools so that means I have a lot more freedom. I have 14 hours of free time a week and since it’s located in the city, that means I can go to the art gallery, museum, zoo, Central market and the mall during these hours :#1: (even though I’m supposed to be studying during these hours, it’s still up to me what I do with them) Best of all, since it’s partnered with the actual Uni, I get access to all the Uni facilities (like the Barr-Smith library ) I’m so excited!

On to more Oblivion-orientated news

Recently, Bethesda gained copyright on the name “Skyrim," so it seems that TES V might be set there. If that’s the case, I can’t say I’m pleased; we all know how irritating those mountains can be. (Not so much in Oblivion but in Morrowind... ugh?) and I have no real love for the Nords. Incidentally, my first character ever was a Nord, but that was before I knew anything about them, It was more of a “ooh, pretty face paint” situation, anyway.

Plus, Something seems to have re-kindled my obsession with Dagoth Ur. Crazy Cult leaders are awesome and he is the best of them all in the TES world. (Yes, I like him more than Mannimarco, but not by too much)

And L's still alive! [link]

Awww... I got all excited when I saw TES V in the name of your journal, but seeing the that it might be set in Skyrim makes meh sad. T_T
Hopefully it wont be so bad, I mean, in Cyrodiil not everyone was an Imperial.

I am a hedge, move along. Nothing to see here.

Congrats on getting accepted! I'll miss you but we probably talk more online anyway!

I personally like the results of dagoth ur's cult, the ash slaves, ghouls and such. You can see the subtle evolution, I got incredibly excited when I pieced together the steps. Well, at least in my head it makes sense.
And Dagoth Ur is fun to draw.
'but Nerevar!...' as he queries him. Her. I assume your nerevar was a female.
My nerevar stole everything. Like a kleptomaniac. This game was fantastic for that...condition.

NOW GIVE ME MY FUCKING DIARIES
Congratulations ! :#1:

As for TES V being settled in Skyrim, it could be interesting... I enjoyed "Bloodmoon" a lot, and I guess TESV Skyrim would be in the same vein...
To be honest, if this piece of information is true, I feel kind of releive. I was fearing something being related to Elves again - the Summerset Isles for example. Boring. :XD:

If it actually was set in Skyrim, I'd just be happy that it wasn't Valenwood.

Imagine hundreds of Adoring fans/Fargoths/Gaenors/Gwinis's/Erthors/Glarthirs. That would be my worst nightmare. *twitch*

There is a story to be built with the whole local-savage-Nords against the Imperials who are trying to civilise them. I would be nice to pick sides there.

Oh dear, hordes of Adoring Fans... :fear:

And I will pick the local Nords ! Yo ! :#1:

Yes, I will pick the local Nords too!

It seems to be human nature to pick the underdog. Well, at least I take them to be the underdog because I look at them as being imperialists (ahaha I really wish they were called something different to 'Imperials' right now)

and it's a little bit like the English vs the Aboriginals thing, which every Australian still seems to feel guilty about. It's sad to think that they thought they were doing the right thing by "civilising' the natives. But them again the Nords did win in Solstheim so maybe they're not the underdog.

Actually, I'm interested in Summerset Isles because I want to know how a society which consists mainly of arrogant bastards could possibly work. They'd all be saying "This work is beneath me" and nothing would get done.

I DO like underdogs indeed.

Ah, repentance. A very fashionable concept.
Even if I strongly disapprove the idea of colonisation, I can't see why I should (with the rest of my compatriots) be held reponsible for it (same goes for the Aussies and the Aboriginals). I was not even born, damnit ! :noes:

Hmmm, if, as it is suggested, the Altmer (and the Ayleid culture) is based on Ancient Greece, the society works thanks to slavery.
Which has been abolished in the Empire...
Interesting... :XD:
